Michiko Seto, Owner
Michiko Seto, (Micha) a Jersey Shore native, founded Blooming Boutique. She spent many summers working in various types of small businesses and dreaming about owning a business of her own one day. Graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Michiko Seto, obtained valuable experience working in management positions in retail, banking and direct sales. From summer jobs to post-graduation experiences, the dream unfolded.
While on vacation in 2004, Micha happened upon some unique handbags and beach bags that were as pricey as they were beautiful. Being inspired, Michiko Seto designed beautiful, unique but affordable bags for her friends and family. Creatively, the bags progressed from silk flowers to adding various trim of beads, fringes, seashells, and even changeable trims. The public began taking notice of the Blooming Bags. Seeing the opportunity for a business, Michiko Seto began looking for a place to sell her bags.
A Growing Business
Michiko Seto's first Blooming Boutique location opened in August of 2006, in a small, 375 square foot space located at 107 W. Market Street in downtown Lewes, Delaware. It began with all different Blooming Bags and a few handbag accessories.
Blooming Boutique was an immediate success and has now grown into 11 stores. Blooming Boutique has 4 locations in Southern Delaware including Long Neck, Milford & two locations in Lewes. Other stores include:

The interchangeable jewelry line, Trollbeads can be found in Lewes and Milford locations. Furthermore, jewelry line Moonglow and made-in-the-USA earring lines; Sienna Sky, Adajio, Silver Forest, and Spirit are available at all locations. In addition to handbags, shoes, costume jewelry and many accessories, Blooming Boutique has expanded significantly into fashion. Blooming Boutique now carries resort wear in all sizes including petites all year in their stores. Clothing brands include LuluB, Oh My Gauze, Escape by Habitat, Judy Blue Jeans, Sea Breeze Cotton Clothing, Buddy by the Sea, Southwind Apparel, Ruby Road, Kiki Sol, Simply Southern, Southern Lady, Links, with many lines offering lengths of regular and petites, for women under 5’4”, and sizes ranging from x-small to 3X. Shoe brands include Ilse Jacobsen, Fit Flops, Lindsay Phillips, OkaBs,and Tidewater flip-flops.

Maggie
Director of Client Relations, Queen of the Belly Rubs, and Vice President of Greeting; Maggie goes by many names! After many years in retail, she decided to open her own store in Long Neck, Maggie's Pet Boutique, a pet-themed gift store for people and pets that also sources hard-to-find clean pet-food options. Maggie is usually glued to Micha's side and can often be found at the Lewes location.
Alyssa
Alyssa is the Director of E-commerce and Marketing and has been with the company since 2014. Additionally, Alyssa assists Micha on buying trips to help source the everchanging products at Blooming Boutique. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her son and husband.
Bernie
Bernie has been with Blooming Boutique nearly since the beginning! Bernie enjoys shopping and spending time with her grandchildren as much as possible. Bernie can often be found in Lewes and Milford locations.
Cat
Social Media and Trollbeads Expert, Cat is always running around between the stores capturing new products and happy customers! Cat spends her free time continuing her education and with her family and beloved dog, Kona!
Dawn
New to the Blooming Boutique team and the Delaware area, Dawn has quickly become known for her exceptional service! Dawn enjoys spending time with her family and her dog!
